If your Apple computer still runs 32-bit macOS 10.14 or earlier, LEGO MINDSTORMS EV3 Home Edition Software will continue to work on your device. One of the main differences from the newer 2.0 is that this kit is connected to the computer by a wire (tethered) where as WeDo 2.0 is connected by a Bluetooth connection and is therefore ‘wireless’. It is being discontinued at the end of 2017. The original Lego WeDo launched in 2009, renamed Lego WeDo 1.0 after the new 2.0 kit was put on sale.
